Calm the Chaos
Parent Training Teleclass

Tired of the constant fighting and arguing?

It seems like it’s always something. Fighting over chores. . .
over homework. . . over the remote.

You worry that if you don’t “stay on it” then your child will fail, but you also worry that the constant criticism is beginning to affect his self-esteem and your relationship. You feel like all you ever say is “Don’t do that!” “I said NO!” “Stop that now!” or “What were you thinking?!”

You’ve talked to your doctor. You’ve talked to your family and friends. You’ve bought a bunch of parenting books. Sure each time you reach out you get a small piece that is helpful, but the problem doesn’t seem to go away. You begin to doubt your abilities as a parent and lose confidence.

No wonder you're feeling stressed!

You have been all on your own trying to fix the problems with limited support. The standard behavior plan in books might work for a while, but it isn’t easy to be consistent. Not only that, those solutions are often only looking at a small piece, not the big picture. How can you learn to create a workable plan that you can stick with for the long term?

You need:

  • Flexible Structure - a plan for working through the stresses and a method of problem solving.
  • Non-judgmental support – An instructor and a group of parents who really understand what you are struggling with and can help you through the rough spots.
  • Self Care – I know you don’t have time, but what I’ve found is that in order to be consistent when the going gets tough it’s vital to make sure that your own needs are being met. As parents we often put our own needs last which means we are running on empty most of the time!
“Karen doesn’t just ‘deal’ with ADHD. She really gets it, and that made a big difference in our decision to work with her.” K. mom of 5 year old

Introducing Calm the Chaos Parent Training Teleclass

Calm the Chaos Parent Training will give you the tools you need to begin bringing peace back to your home. Lively classes, support from the group as well as the instructor will enable you to implement a program that works for you and your family without stress.

Here's what you will learn:

  • Understand why your child does those things that drive you crazy.
  • Stop arguments and power struggles.
  • Help your child to become self-motivated.
  • Inoculate your child against peer pressure and bullying.
  • How self care for parents is the best way to care for kids too.

You will learn all the tools and techniques that I learned and put to work with my own children. I learned the hard way that going it alone was just that—hard and ineffective, never mind no fun! You don’t have to go it alone any longer. You can break that isolation and begin to allow yourself to get the support that you need.

This class is for families struggling with:

  • A major transition like divorce, a death in the family, new school or other stressor
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism, Asperger's, PDD NOS, etc.)
  • Any type of emotional or physical health difficulty

Here is what is included:

A one hour teleclass once a week for five weeks.

The class will take place using a conference call line. This will allow Karen to teach the week’s lesson as well as allow all participants to ask questions and interact with each other.

Teleclasses mean you don’t need a babysitter or gas money, but you will need a phone and some long distance service. Class will be offered during the lunch hour so that it will be convenient for everyone who wants to attend. Class size will be a maximum of 10 students so that everyone will receive the care and support that they need.

Recordings of the classes

Listen to the class over again or catch up on a class that you have to miss. Download the recordings and listen later on your iPod or computer. These are going to be information filled classes so you won’t want to miss a single thing.

Exercises and Worksheets in PDF format

This allows you to reprint and re-use any of the worksheets over and over again easily.

Phone calls and emails to the instructor to troubleshoot problems

Karen will be available between classes to help out when you are feeling stuck or when your situation needs some extra brainstorming. Just call or email and ask away!

“I was at the end of my rope with my daughter. I was so happy when Karen answered the phone when I called for help. She talked to me and to my daughter, then we figured out what to do next. Things have been better between my daughter and me ever since.” L. mom of 13 year old.

An email/web based support group for 6 months after the class

The private support group will allow you to continue getting support from Karen, your classmates, and other parents who take the class in the future for 6 months after the class is over.

This way when some new developmental stage hits or suddenly a new challenge strikes, you won’t be stuck. You will be able to send a message and get support right away. The only thing that is consistent in raising a child is consistent change. So that means consistent adjusting and re-adjusting of your parenting strategies too.

Here is what will be covered:

Week 1: Specific Praise and Child Led Play and Self Care

Week 2: Setting up for success: Expectations, teaching, and the environment

Week 3: Love Languages – discover the love language for the whole family

Week 4: Incentive plans – How to use them effectively

Week 5: Collaborative Problem Solving – proactively heading off power struggles and melt downs

Each week will include a self care exercise which will help you to reduce stress and find the fun again. The phrase “self care” may resonate with you like the phrase “peace on earth” a beautiful concept that will never happen in this lifetime, but I assure you that one step at a time we will begin to create some lasting good habits.

The 86 Guarantee

If you don’t notice a significant difference in the chaos level of your home, then just 86 the whole thing, and you’ll get 100% of your money back. You must attend each class or listen to the recording, work with the techniques presented during the week, and call or email when you get stuck. If you are still not noticing a difference in your home, then your money will be refunded.

"My husband and I were desperate for understanding of our son's emotional difficulties in dealing with his ADHD challenges. As most kids in his situation, our son is loving, bright and creative. We feared the damage his emotional outbursts could do not only to our family, but to his own growth and happiness.

Aside from Karen's wealth of knowledge and understanding of the challenges and heartaches associated with ADD/ADHD, she offers a very empathetic ear, and I felt very comfortable talking to her, always, about any subject. Along with help in dealing with our son's problems, Karen offered expert insight into tools to help our marriage and try to heal some of the damage done by our chaotic lives.

Karen was great with our son and modeled some ways for us to better relate to him. She was also great with our younger daughter, who sometimes accompanied our visits. She obviously loves children and cares deeply for each one's well being in all ways. I found Karen had a perfect mix of professional expertise and the understanding we needed.

I have felt blessed to find Karen in our time of need, and look forward to meeting with her again." S. mother of 9 year old
